The pretty seaside town of Dawlish is famous for the black swans that live amongst other waterfowl on the brook which flows through the town. Very much a traditional seaside town, the sandy beach is backed by shops, cafes and amusements. Cyclists and walkers can follow the scenic route from Dawlish to Exeter or cross the estuary on the pedestrian ferry at nearby Starcross to Exmouth where you can join the Exe Estuary Trail.
Just outside of Dawlish, just off the A379 and along a private drive leading to a small, family-run campsite is Lockwood, an attractive detached bungalow with its own secluded and enclosed garden. The spacious lounge has large sofas and plenty of room for everyone, off which the kitchen has glazed doors which lead to a sunny paved terrace. The master bedroom has an adjoining dressing room and the second bedroom has twin beds which can be linked to make a 6ft double.
